Free scam intelligence,
built for everyone
RecentScam is a real-time database of reported scam phone numbers, email addresses, and malicious domains — aggregated from verified cybersecurity feeds and community reports, and made freely searchable for the public.
Our Story
RecentScam was founded after a simple frustration: when someone receives a suspicious call or email, there is nowhere fast and free to look it up. Existing databases are paywalled, outdated, or require creating an account. Meanwhile, scammers move within hours.
We set out to build the lookup tool we wished existed — one that aggregates real threat intelligence from cybersecurity organisations like abuse.ch (URLhaus) and OpenPhish, combines it with community reports from platforms like Reddit's r/Scams and r/phishing, and makes every record instantly searchable at no cost.
Every record in our database carries its source. Domain records are traceable to verified malware and phishing feed submissions. Phone and email records reference the community posts where they were reported. We do not invent data — we surface it.
Where our data comes from
Threat Intelligence Feeds
Malicious domains are sourced daily from URLhaus by abuse.ch and OpenPhish — two globally recognised, free cybersecurity intelligence platforms used by security researchers worldwide.
Community Reports
Phone numbers and email addresses are drawn from publicly posted reports on Reddit (r/Scams, r/phishing, r/fraud) — communities with millions of members actively sharing scam encounters.
Direct Submissions
Visitors can submit new reports directly via our Report a Scam form. Every submission is reviewed before being made public. No anonymous accusations go live unreviewed.
Editorial standards
Source attribution on every record
Every record displays its origin — threat feed, community report, or direct submission.
No unverified accusations
User submissions are held for review before publication. Only reports with corroborating evidence are approved.
Right to removal
Individuals can request removal of any record via our Removal Request page. We respond within 72 hours.
Daily feed updates
Threat feeds are refreshed daily. Scam reports older than 180 days without further activity are flagged for review.
